How These Families Started Sleeping Through the Night Again (and how you can too!)
“My baby is taking hours to fall asleep at bedtime.”
“My child wakes up 5-6 times throughout the night”
“I just cannot seem to get my little one to sleep past 4:30 a.m.”
“My two-year-old suddenly stopped napping!”
Is this you?
When you’re in this situation, it’s easy to get caught up doing whatever it takes to get your little one sleeping (so that you can sleep too!) Parents get into the habit of bringing their little one to bed with them, nursing 5, 8, 10 times at night, rocking until their arms go numb, driving around at 3:00 a.m. bleary-eyed, or a combination of any or all of these.
These strategies are called sleep props. Sleep props are anything that a baby relies on to fall asleep, but when you haven’t had any sleep at all, letting your baby into your bed is better than a sleepless night for everyone, right?
Thankfully, there is another way. You and your baby can both get the sleep you need without resorting to extraordinary measures to make it happen. I’ve worked with many families who have ALL been there. They’ve all called me, exhausted and at the end of their rope, and after working together, we have restored predictability and peace into their nights.
As a sleep coach, I will do the thinking for you!
When Savannah’s parents came to me, they were exhausted. They were spending hours rocking their 6-month-old to sleep only to have her wake up 2-3 hours later to do it all over again! Everyone’s mood was impacted by their lack of sleep. They had some wonderful strategies in place and a great knowledge base, and together we created a customized sleep plan that worked for their family. With just a few small tweaks to their routine and a concrete plan in place, Savannah was sleeping through the night within days after our consultation.
“Jamie was nothing less than amazing. Not only was the information she gave so beneficial, the continued support she offered was priceless. She took all the hard work, research, and scheduling confusion off of our hands and made the sleep training process incredibly easy. We went from rocking our daughter to sleep for hours and waking up every 2-3 hours all night to her falling asleep on her own with in 10 minutes and sleeping over 9 hours straight by the second night! Jamie changed our lives, and we could not recommend her more.”
Likewise, Christina – mom of an 8-month-old and fellow entrepreneur – was struggling to maintain her sanity after her daughter was keeping her up for several hours every night and waking for the day before 5:00 a.m. It’s been over 6 months since we worked together and Christina’s daughter is still sleeping 12 hours overnight, has successfully transitioned from 2 naps to 1 without derailing her nighttime sleep, and maintains her status as a sleep superstar. Christina has been able to focus on being a #momboss without falling asleep on the job!
“People ask me why I hired a consultant and usually don’t know what you do. I’m like, ‘I got my life back. I wanted someone else to think for me because I couldn’t. Charlotte is absolutely thriving with a better sleep schedule. I don’t know what took me so long. This was the best money I’ve spent since having a baby. Thank you!”
feel confident in helping your baby sleep through the night
Jessica first contacted me when her son was 4 months old. She was concerned that he was going through the dreaded 4-month-sleep-regression and wasn’t sure how to handle it. After a few rocky months of trying on her own, she reached out for some more help. By following the step-by-step plan that I laid out for her, her son was sleeping through the night within days.
“Jamie was great to work with for our sleep issues. She was very thorough with the sleep plan and made herself available anytime I needed assistance. I used to feel very insecure about my son’s sleep and even struggled with anxiety about whether or not I was doing the right thing. Now my son is sleeping through the night, knows how to self soothe, and I feel very confident about the choices I am making regarding his sleep.”
sleep plans customized to your family
I work with many families who feel like they have tried everything to get their little ones to sleep and just don’t know what to do next. While it may seem silly to hire a sleep consultant when there are so many books and blogs out there on infant sleep, sleep solutions are not “one-size-fits'-all”. What worked for your sister or your best friend may very well not work for you and your child. When I work with families, we tailor a plan that is unique to their child at his or her particular age. These plans are not stagnant documents; they are ever-evolving until we get it just right!
When grad-school colleague and good friend, Lynn, reached out to me to help get her 4-month-old son, Bobby, down for bed before 1:00 a.m., I was honored she put her trust in Oh Baby. After only a few days, we had successfully moved up Bobby’s bedtime from 1:00 a.m. to a more appropriate 7:30 p.m. and he was sleeping through the night aside from one short, developmentally-appropriate feed.
I can’t even put into words how life changing of an experience this was for my husband and I. Jamie creates a unique comprehensive plan based on YOUR child, this is not a “one size fits all” program. The sleep plan is dynamic, and she continues to craft/tailor it to meet your child’s needs throughout the three week period. I LOVED that I didn’t have to do any thinking or guessing- you just follow the plan. If anything makes you uncomfortable at all, Jamie will pursue other options to reach the goal. It truly is worth every penny. My child is well rested/happy, and I feel like I’m in control of my life again! There really isn’t a price you can put on those things. Thank you SO much Jamie!!!
Likewise, when I began working with Brianna, her daughter Harper had been waking up several times throughout the night and taking up to 2 hours to fall back asleep. After some education around sleep needs, a few adjustments to the routine, and a plan in place, Harper was sleeping through the night within days after our consultation.
“My sweet Harper is 10 months old and had always been a good sleeper until around 8 months. She started waking up 2, then 3, then up to 5 times a night and it would take up to two hours each time to get her back to sleep. She also refused to nap. I was sleep deprived to say the least, and I could see a change in Harper as well. After a full week of waking up 5 times a night and no sleep, I knew I needed to do something! I tried to read online how to sleep train by myself, and after lots of tears and tons of throwing up, I knew I needed professional help. I was referred to Oh Baby Consulting by my pediatrician and I’m so thankful for it. The price was a bit of a shock but worth every penny! Jamie was wonderful to work with. We talked about the issues Harper was having and she set up a custom sleep plan for my daughter. Night one was tough, but Harper didn’t throw up and was asleep after 20 minutes and slept a full 12 hours straight! Jamie was diligent at responding and was so helpful and supportive during the entire process. Since Harper was excelling, she even customized the plan again accordingly! It’s been a month since we started the sleep training program, and Harper has slept 12 hours plus every night, and takes two full naps a day! We would never be where we are now without Jamie and Oh Baby Consulting. I’d recommend her to anyone! My only regret is that we didn’t do it sooner!”
You can sleep well too!
I know it can seem impossible when your little one is awake for the 3rd time and it’s not even 1:00 a.m. or when you have tried to let them cry in their crib, but they just keep going (and going, and going, and going…). But there’s hope, I promise! With diligence, consistency, and an encouraging accountability partner (🙋🏻♀️), you will see success!
If you need some help implementing these big (and maybe overwhelming) changes, you know where to find me!
